The Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS is similar to the IXUS 100 model in terms of performance, but features an additional wide angle lens and widescreen 16:9 LCD viewing screen, measuring 2.8 inches across. This camera is totally optimised for shooting expansive images together with filming finely detailed HD videos.
There's an improved zoom system on the IXUS 110 IS, allowing up to 4x optical and 4x digital, for those really close shots. Together with the 12.1 megapixel sensor, it lets you take ultra fine pictures at huge resolutions.
Canon have packed this camera full of the latest scene detection technology. The Digital IXUS 110 IS can determine subject brightness, contrast, distance, and overall hue, which it uses to select the absolute optimal shooting settings. All this happens in an instant and is completely automatic.
The widescreen 16:9 movie option films in high definition (1280 x 720) at 30 frames per second. The Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS has a useful HDMI output to connect your camera straight into a HD widescreen TV, giving you the option of watching your movies instantly.
The IXUS 110 IS may not be as small as the IXUS 100 model, but it does still look beautifully compact and well designed. The camera is available in four different colours including gold, silver, pink or blue.
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery should last around 200 shots, or 300 minutes of video playback. The IXUS 110, as with most Canon digital cameras, comes with an easy to use battery charger.
