Select the scene recognition mode and let the camera adjust all the settings automatically. The SX200 IS will determine subject brightness, distance, and overall hue to optimise in camera settings for optimal performance. However, if you want to be more creative with your photography, the SX200 IS also features manual controls including shutter-speed priority or aperture priority.
For group or portrait shots of friends and family, the PowerShot SX200 IS offers face detection and red-eye removal technology. The camera can detect up to 35 faces in the frame and adjust focus, exposure, white balance and flash settings to best capture your subject. There is also a face self-timer feature which only takes the shot once an extra face is detected in the frame, a great alternative to the standard self-timer feature.
The impressive 3 inch LCD gives great preview performance, and allows easy navigation of the cameras menus.
