Available in black or silver, the Panasonic Lumix DMC FX150 features a 14.7 megapixel CCD sensor for taking huge images, up to 4416 x 3312 pixels in resolution. This is more than enough capture capability for most amateur photographers, and gives you plenty of freedom for cropping or enlarging the image to poster size, without any noticeable loss of image quality.
Because the Panasonic Lumix DMC FX150 has such a high resolution sensor, it means the x4 digital zoom can be used more effectively. When starting with a very high resolution pre-zoom, the quality loss when cropping isn't so noticeable. Of course there's also a standard optical zoom of x3.6 magnification for perfect 'real' zoom with no quality loss.
To optimise your images, there are over 25 preset scene modes to choose from including: Portrait, Scenery, Sports, Food, Party, Candle Light, Starry Sky, Fireworks, Beach, Snow, Aerial photo, Film Grain and Pin Hole. Alternatively the Lumix DMC FX150 also features Panasonic's famous IA (Intelligent Auto) mode, which takes away much of the effort and lets the camera do the work for you. IA featured on the DMCFX150 detects the ambient conditions and adjusts four different functions to prevent blurry, out-of-focus photos. The MEGA O.I.S. detects hand shake and compensates, ISO control detects subject movement and automatically adjusts the shutter speed accordingly, face detection optimises the image for portrait shots, and the intelligent scene selector detects the brightness level and picks out one of the most relevant scene modes. This all happens in an instant!
The Panasonic DMC FX150 also features a 2.7 inch LCD, which you can overlay various functions to help you capture the perfect image, a 28mm Wide Angle f/2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens to capture wide sweeping scenery, and an HD movie recording feature available in 640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps, 320 x 240 pixels at 30 fps, 848 x 480 pixels at 30 fps or 1280x720 pixels at 24fps.
