The second model from Panasonic featuring an impressive x12 optical zoom, the Lumix DMC TZ7 is perfect for getting up close and personal. With all that zooming capability, Panasonic have also included a MEGA optical image stabiliser to ensure you still get quality shots when at full zoom.
But zooming isn't all this camera does well. The Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ7 also features a 10.1 megapixel sensor, for high resolution photography, a 25mm ultra wide angle lens, perfect for snapping sweeping scenery and landscapes, together with a large 3 inch Lumix LCD screen, which adjusts it's brightness automatically to ensure no unwanted battery usage in bright conditions.
If portraits are more your thing, then the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ7 doesn't disappoint here either. With the latest face detection technology which captures faces in the scene and optimises the camera settings depending on conditions, red-eye correction to ensure perfect looking eyes every time, and a fast 1/2000s shutter speed to reduce motion blur from moving objects.
You can also record HD movies with the Lumix DMC TZ7. There are a number of different recording options including VGA 640 x 480 at 30fps, QVGA 320 x 240 at 30fps, WVGA 848 x 480 at 30fps or HD 1280x720 30fps. The TZ7 is also the world's first compact camera to feature a Stereo Creator. This records high quality audio to compliment the HD video, for example there is a wind cut function to remove unwanted background noise from recordings.
The lithium-ion rechargeable battery should last around 300 shots, and is easily recharged using the included charger.
Perhaps the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ7 doesn't look as beautiful as some alternative models, but it is available in four colours including black, silver, brown and red.
